Whew! It's been quite a long time since this blog has seen an update! Sorry about that... I have been really busy with work and haven't had time to post anything. We have so much to tell everyone! Mia is quite the little character these days. I guess we'll start at the beginning of June... she did end up having surgery to place tubes in her ears. That was not our favorite experience. She came out like a fish out of water, literally, kicking and screaming, It was awful. Once we got her calmed down she was ok. She hasn't had any ear infections since but we did find out last week at her follow-up that the tube in her right ear is plugged now. We are treating it each night but it's not so fun for her - she's such a good sport. We are hoping the ear infections don't come back, if they do we'll likely have to have another surgery to replace that tube. We'll see how things go.

On a more positive note, she is running these days, not walking. Some may say she's like her Mommy in that aspect :) Mia has also started talking more. Of course you get "Mama" and "Dada" but her first phrase was (not surprisingly) "Hi Sadie!" - it was so funny. She also tries to say "Octopus" b/c we have a toy octopus in the bathtub. She is really good with sign language, which daycare helps us with as well. She can say more, please, thank you, mommy, daddy, all done, I'm hungry, bath and maybe a few others we don't quite understand yet! It's so neat how they can learn to sign so easily.

Mia is still quite the dancer - she had a blast at the Medora Musical in Aug. She has also learned to twirl now. One of her favorite things to do now is give Sadie hugs. Of course Mommy & Daddy get lots of hugs and kisses too - she'll even blow us kisses if we're lucky :) Her favorite character is Elmo - everyone is Elmo. She'll point him out in books now and we're working on learning more shapes and toys. We are also learning about her eyes, nose, fingers and toes!

We have started calling her "Happy Feet" since she loves the movie but also has been doing Bumbo's Happy Feet dance ever since. It's hilarious. We had a pretty good time at the lake this summer. It was a bit challenging with the life jacket being so big and not being right on the water so we found a new resort for next summer that is going to be so much better! We're really excited. Just have to get through fall/winter/spring again! :)

I asked Dustin if he wanted to say anything on here about Mia... he said "just that she's the bestest daughter EVER". Well put I'd say. Enjoy the movies and pictures.
